Blatski plavac -
quality dry red wine
Produced by: Poljoprivreda Blato Winery in Blato
Blatski plavac is red wine produced from the grapes Plavac
mali, a grapevine variety widely spread in Dalmatia. Pleasant aroma and the fresh taste of
this light red wine come from the specific growing conditions in Blato, Zrnovo and Pupnat
valleys.
This soft and fruity wine blends excellently with selected Dalmatian cusine.
Unlike in other European countries, where one drinks white wine with fish, the Korcula and
Peljesac people, like all other Dalmatians, generally drink PLAVAC with fish. The
Dalmatian inhabitants typically drink PLAVAC for refreshment, thus rewarding their
painstaking labor in growing it.
