Vela Pržina

This small bay features a lovely sandy beach that has soft and fine sand making it popular with children and families. Situated on the southern coastline of Korcula islandVela Pržina offers uninterrupted views over the nearby seascapes. Refreshments may be obtained from bach cafe and restaurant. Out of season, the bay is often visited by experienced windsurfers, especially on windy days. The nearest village, Lumbarda, has a local supermarket, post office, bakery, and numerous restaurants which overlook the bay.

Beach

Vela Przina is a south-facing sandy beach about a half kilometer long, popular with families, with excellent views along the coastline. The beach joins with Raznjic horn to the east, backed by grassy dune on the west and north is adjacent to local vineyards of well-known Grk wine. The beach, accessed from the large car park, gets crowded in the summer. Two seaside restaurants/cafes offer drinks, snacks, and grilled food. You can also hire deck chairs and parasols for 20 HRK (3 Euro) daily. Note: Dogs are welcome on this beach except between the 1st of July and the 31st of August when a seasonal dog ban is in place.

Where to Eat

There are two seaside cafes/cocktail bars/restaurants that offer pizza and pasta dishes, grilled food, sandwiches, cold drinks including local homegrown wine. You can get fresh oysters, seafood, local wine, and delicious cocktails at Nonno Beach Story Lounge Bar and at Plaza Pržina Cafe hotdogs, burgers, kebabs, calamari, beer, cocktails.

Getting here

Located just 4 km East of Korcula Old Town, the beach is easily accessible by foot. (Info page about travel to the island is here) . Getting here by scooter or bicycle is a great option although inexperienced cyclists may find it harder at some steep, uphill parts of the route. Driving to the bay and parking here is easy as there are plenty of parking places available (see below photo). Access is by road excellent and out of peak season, free parking is available on site.

The local bus can take you to Lumbarda from Korcula town. The walking distance from the Lumbarda bus stop to the bay is about 5 minutes. If you are not driving, the easiest option is to get a taxi that can take you here from Korcula Town in 10 minutes. The usual charge is about 12 euros (100 HRK) one way (per car, not per person)

Parking

The parking is available about 50 meters from the beach itself. In the high season (July&August) parking is charged (20 HRK per day) while out of the season it is completely free. Here is a photo of the car, scooter, and bikes parking spaces:
