Pupnatska Luka

Nestled on the southern edge of Korcula island, Pupnatska Luka, the hidden gem, has stunning seascapes and a wealth of sea life waiting to greet you. The bay features a lovely pebble beach and clear seawater. Beach Bar Mate and Konoba Mijo are small beach bars & (konoba) restaurants situated right at the beach.

Beach

Once voted one of the best beaches in Croatia, Pupnatska Luka is the perfect location to get away from it all. A wide shingle beach is adjacent to local vineyards. This is the perfect beach for a family day out with enough pebbles for everyone to stretch out. For the perfect day on the beach, why not visit this popular family beach that features two seaside restaurants/cafes offering drinks, snacks, and grilled food. You can also hire deck chairs and parasols.

Getting here

Situated just 4 km South of Pupnat, the smallest village on the island, the beach is easily accessible by foot. (See how to reach the island page.) Getting here by scooter or bicycle is also an option although cycling back you may find it harder as it is a pretty steep, uphill road for about 1.5 km. Driving to the bay and parking here is fairly easy as there are plenty of parking places available (see below photo)

The local bus can take you to Pupnat village from most of the places on the island but from there you would need to walk another 4 km. If you are not driving, the easiest option is to hire a local taxi that can take you here in 20 minutes from Korcula Town, charging about 30 euro one way (per car, not per person)

Parking

The beach parking is available about 100 meters from the beach itself. In the high season (busy summers) parking is charged (30 HRK per day) while out of the season it is completely free. Here is a photo of the location of the road, parking, and beach locations:

Where to Stay

If you’d like to make your visit last longer, you can stay at the lovely beach house, a stone’s throw away from the beach (check availability here) that is secluded and quiet, ideal for those looking to get away from busier hotels. If you love cycling, hiking, or snorkeling, this may be the ideal place to spend a few days. There are several other houses in the bay that also offer accommodation but are not available for online booking (yet).
