Getting to & from Korcula


Here are the current best options for public transport for getting to Korcula Island.

As there is no airport on the island, to reach the nearest airport you will need to fly to either Split or Dubrovnik and from there take any available public transport to reach Korcula.

From Dubrovnik:

Getting to Korcula by catamaran ferry or bus from Dubrovnik

You have 5 options to reach the island from Dubrovnik.

  1. Catamaran ferry, daily, all year round, departing Dubrovnik in the afternoon (13:00 or 14:30) and arriving in Korcula town at 15:00 or 16:30 (tickets)
  2. Catamaran ferry April to October, departing Dubrovnik in the afternoon (16:00) and arriving in Korcula town at 18:00 (tickets)
  3. Bus from Dubrovnik to the island of Korcula, stopping in all villages on Peljesac and along the island. Departing at least once a day, run by Arriva Bus Company, schedules and booking.
  4. Catamaran ferry from June to September, departing from Dubrovnik in the afternoon, run by ferry company TP Line. (tickets)
  5. Catamaran ferry June to September, departing from Dubrovnik in the morning, run by ferry company Jadrolinija. (schedules & booking)

Important note: Some of the above catamaran ferries proceed to Split (see Dubrovnik to Split options) via Hvar and Brac, so if you are island hopping, you can continue to travel with the same vessels later on (in the following days).

Getting to Korcula by car ferry, catamaran, or bus from Split

You have the following options to reach the island from Split:

  • Car Ferry Split-Vela Luka- Lastovo: If you are driving and would like to take a direct ferry from Split to Korcula Island, the only option is to take the car ferry from Split to Vela Luka. Departing from Split in the morning, run by ferry company Jadrolinija. Journey time 3.5 hrs approx. Schedules and booking on their website. The alternative is to drive to Orebic and take a ferry (15 minutes) to Domince, Korcula Town.
  • Catamaran Split – Vela Luka – Lastovo: Daily service, departing Split in the afternoon. If you are just a foot passenger, then this is a good option. It is faster and particularly suitable if you are staying in the western part of the island. Run by Jadrolinija. Schedules and booking on their website.
  • Catamaran Split – Hvar – Korcula Town: Daily service departing Split in the afternoon. April to October, some additional departures also in the morning. If you are just a foot passenger, this is also a good option if you are staying in the eastern part of the island. Run by Kapetan Luka. Schedules and booking on their website.
  • Catamaran from Brac, Makarska, Mljet, or Lastovo: April to October daily services, some are just a couple of times a week. Run by Jadrolinija, Krilo – Kapetan Luka and TP Line. No service in the offseason.

Getting to Korcula by car ferry from Orebic

The nearest point to the mainland is Orebic. It is just 1 mile away from the island. From there you can take the 15-minute car ferry to Domince, in Korcula Town. Run by ferry company Jadrolinija. Journey time 15 minutes approx. Very frequent ferry service, about once in half an hour. Detailed schedules and prices are on their website. No advance reservation for a car place. Buses are in operation between the main villages and towns on the island. Run by Arriva.hr bus company. Schedules, bookings, and prices on their website. The alternatives are local taxis and water taxis. Also, car rental, scooter, or cycling is the option too.
