Orlanduša

Situated on the southern shores of Korcula island, Orlanduša is a hidden bay offering impressive landscapes and a lovely pebble beach. The bay is part of the Defora area and features clean, calm, and clear seawater. Great little bay to spend a day!

Beach

Orlanduša is the perfect place to get away from it all. A small shingle beach is adjacent to surrounding green hills and a small vineyard. This is the great beach for a day or afternoon trip from nearby villages or towns. The pebbles are comfy to sit on (see below photo) or stretch to sunbathe. There are no facilities on the beach as it is mainly used by people who have houses in the bay.

Where to Eat

There are no restaurants, cafes, or kiosks in the bay that offer food or drink. The nearest places to eat are in either Pavja Luka or in Simunovo, 4 km away, the local tapas/konoba restaurant, that serves tasty traditional food, in fantastic surroundings with superb views over the hills and valleys. Get in touch with Simunovo to book your tables in advance: tel+385922620903 & (check location map)

Getting here

Situated just 12 km South of Korcula Old Town the beach is easily accessible by car, scooter, or bicycle. Hiking is also an option, but bear in mind it can get pretty hot in the summer months (wear a hat and take plenty of water!). Driving to the bay and parking here is fairly easy as there are a fair amount of parking places available a few hundred meters above the bay. (see how to get to Korcula island)

The local bus can take you from most of the places on the island to Zrnovo village, Postrana bus stop, but from there you would need to walk another 8 km. If you are not driving, the most comfortable option is to hire a local taxi that can take you here from Korcula Town in 25 minutes (check here). The charge is about 35 euros one way (car for 6 people). A scooter is also a good option, just make sure you drive slowly and carefully on the tarmac road.

Parking

The beach parking is available about 250 meters from the bay itself, along the tarmac road just above the bay. The parking is completely free any time of the year.

Where to Stay

If you’d like to make your visit last longer, you can stay in several beach houses that are dotted along the bay, just a few meters away from the beach, secluded and quiet, ideal for those looking to get away from busier town apartments and hotels. If you love swimming, snorkeling, and hiking this may be the ideal place to spend a few days.
